Privacy Policy

Gildeck is an offline zodiac card and horoscope app published by Hugo Software. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your data.
The short version
Gildeck does not collect personal data. We operate no server for this app, and Gildeck's own code makes no network requests at all — every reading, score and moon phase is calculated on your phone. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no third-party trackers.
What you give us, and where it goes
Gildeck asks for exactly one thing: your date of birth.
We do not ask for your birth time, your birth place, your name, your email address or your gender. From the date alone the app calculates your sun sign and the sign the Moon was in on that day, using astronomical formulae built into the app.
Your date of birth is stored in the app's own local storage on your device. It is never transmitted anywhere. We cannot read it, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.
Permissions
Gildeck requests no runtime permissions for its core features — no camera, no location, no contacts, no storage, no phone state, no advertising ID.
Four permissions appear in the app's manifest, and being precise about them matters more to us than a slogan:
- Network access (
INTERNET) and network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE). Gildeck's own code never opens a network connection. Every horoscope reading, compatibility score, moon phase and sign calculation happens offline on your device — you can use the whole app in airplane mode and nothing will be missing except starting a subscription. Both permissions are contributed by the Google Play billing library, which the app includes in order to sell subscriptions. That is Google's code, and it never receives your date of birth. - Notifications (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS), optional. Only requested if you turn on the daily reading reminder. The reminder is scheduled locally by your phone. No notification is ever pushed from a server, because there is no server. - Alarms and restart (
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM,RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED,WAKE_LOCK). These let your daily reminder fire at the hour you chose and survive a reboot. They are used only for that reminder, and only if you switch it on.
What is stored on your device
- Your date of birth.
- Your chosen language.
- A counter of how many free compatibility checks you used today, and the date of that counter.
- Whether a PRO subscription is active, and your chosen reminder hour.
That is the complete list. All of it lives in the app's private storage, none of it is transmitted to us, and all of it disappears when you uninstall the app or clear its data in Android settings.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Google Play. Google receives the purchase information under Google's own privacy policy. Gildeck never sees, receives or stores your card or payment details. There is no server-side receipt check — whether PRO is active is read from Google Play's purchase state on your own device.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, store or process personal data.
- We do not use analytics, attribution or crash-reporting SDKs.
- We do not show advertising and contain no advertising SDK.
- We do not sell or share data with third parties, because we hold none.
- We do not require or offer an account.
- We do not operate a server for this app.
About the readings
Gildeck's readings are written for entertainment and self-reflection. The astronomical values shown — moon phase, illumination, the Moon's current sign, the planetary ruler of the weekday — are genuinely computed from standard astronomical formulae and are accurate to within minutes. The interpretation built on top of them is not a prediction, and it is not medical, psychological, financial or legal advice.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on our side. Everything Gildeck stores is on your own device and under your control. See our Data Removal page.
If you have purchased a subscription, that purchase record is held by Google Play, and you manage or cancel it there.
Children
Gildeck is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. If the app ever begins collecting data, this page will say so before that version ships.
