These terms govern your use of Gildeck, an Android app published by Hugo Software. By installing or using the app you agree to them.
What Gildeck is
Gildeck shows your zodiac sign as an illustrated collectible card and gives you a daily reading, a compatibility comparison between two signs, the twelve-card deck, and a moon calendar. Everything runs on your device.
What Gildeck is not
The readings are entertainment. They are written to be read for reflection and enjoyment. They are not a prediction of future events, and they are not medical, psychological, financial, legal or professional advice of any kind. Do not make a decision that matters — about your health, your money, your relationships or your work — on the basis of anything this app says. If you need advice, ask a qualified person.
The astronomical figures the app shows (moon phase, illumination percentage, the sign the Moon is in, the planetary ruler of the weekday, the dates of the next new and full Moon) are computed from standard astronomical formulae and are typically accurate to within about ten minutes. They are provided for interest. They are not suitable for navigation, scientific work or any purpose where precision matters.
Subscriptions
Gildeck offers an auto-renewing subscription, Gildeck PRO, sold through Google Play.
- The free tier gives you your own card, the daily reading, and one compatibility check per day. It does not expire.
- PRO unlocks all twelve cards in 3D, unlimited compatibility checks, the full moon calendar, the daily reminder and the widget.
- Prices and any free trial period are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency, as supplied by Google Play.
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You manage and cancel your subscription in Google Play, not in the app: Play Store → your profile icon → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its own policies. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, but we will help you if something has gone wrong — write to us.
Your account
There isn't one. Gildeck has no login, no profile and no cloud sync. Your data lives on your device, which means that if you change phone or clear the app's data, your date of birth is entered again. Your PRO subscription follows your Google account and is restored with "Restore purchases".
Intellectual property
The twelve card illustrations, the card back, the app's design, its text and its code are ours and are protected by copyright. You may take screenshots and share them, including on social media. You may not extract, redistribute, resell or use the card artwork as your own asset, in print or digitally, or train a model on it.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to modify the app to unlock paid features, redistribute a modified build, or misrepresent the app as your own product.
Availability and changes
We may update the app, and features may be added, changed or removed. If we ever removed a feature that PRO was sold on, we would say so clearly in the release notes. We may discontinue the app; if we do, existing subscriptions would be allowed to lapse rather than be cancelled mid-term.
Liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, Hugo Software is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app or from any decision you take after reading it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your statutory consumer rights.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
